I birded at Conneaut harbor from 7:15 AM till 1:45 PM today.  The morning, in between and during fairly heavy rain showers, was very good for migrants, especially shorebirds (14 species found).  The day's tally included: 2 blue-winged teal, 2 n. shovelers, 2 common mergansers, bald eagles, 18 black-bellied plovers, Am. golden-plover, 4 semipalmated plovers, marbled godwit (day 14!), 2 ruddy turnstones, 40 sanderlings, Baird's sandpiper, least sandpiper, 5 ad. white-rumped sandpipers, pectoral sandpiper, 3 semipalmated sandpipers, greater yellowlegs, lesser yellowlegs, 4 Bonaparte's gulls, imm. lesser black-backed gull, imm. great black-backed gull, Caspian tern, 2 Forster's terns, belted kingfisher, peregrine falcon, and 45 barn swallows.  Craig Holt, Lowellville, Mahoning Co.
