September 25th: "Bats: What You Didn't Learn Watching Batman!" Marne
Titchenell, Wildlife Program Specialist, The Ohio State University
Extension.

Bats are fascinating and very beneficial critters to have around,
despite their spooky reputation. We will dispel the myths surrounding bats,
discuss how they help us, and how we can help them as they face a very
deadly disease called white-nose syndrome.

Marne Titchenell received her B.S. and M.S. in wildlife management and
forestry from The Ohio State University. She has gained experience working
as a biological and wildlife technician for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife
Service and USDA Forest Service. She has also worked as a naturalist for the
Columbus and Franklin County Metro Parks where she developed a passion for
environmental education. In late 2007, Marne accepted her current position
as the Wildlife Program Specialist, with the Ohio State University Extension
within the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences. She
works to provide a variety of educational programs, workshops, conferences
and publications centered on wildlife ecology and biology, habitat
management for wildlife and managing nuisance wildlife species.
