Fellow birders, I am wondering whether the remarkable  abundance of

Rose-breasted Grosbeaks is widespread this spring. As I type this, I have

four adult males, two females,  and two juveniles at my feeders, far more

than any previous spring. Other birdwatchers here in Granville (central

Ohio)are noticing an increase as well.  Is this true of other regions of

Ohio? Also, why would this surge in the numbers of this delightful species

occur? Is it a cycle of some sort, or certain food/weather conditions?  I'm

really interested in what might be causing this.
