I stopped at several spots around Powell today, sandwiching trips to Smith
Preserve, Liberty Township Woods, and Traphagen Preserve around a job out
there today.  Migrants were still much in evidence, with lots of singing at
all 3 sites.  The Smith Preserve heron rookery, along Taggart Rd, is in
full swing, with plenty of large juveniles in many nests.  Other notables
included:

Raptors - an Osprey was flying along the river at the Smith Preserve, while
a Red-shouldered Hawk was calling at Traphagen.

Ruby-thr.hummingbird - my FOS was at Liberty Woods

FLycatchers - Great Cresteds and Wood Pewees were at all 3 sites, but
little else yet.  E.Kingbirds were at Smith Preserve and Liberty Woods.

Vireos - Warblings and Red-eyed were at all sites, while Yellow-throated
were at Liberty Woods & Traphagen, and a Blue-headed was at Traphagen

Thrushes - LOTS of Swainsons at all 3 sites;  Woods were also singing at
all 3 sites, and Liberty Woods had a Veery

Mimids - many Catbirds at all 3 sites, and each also had single Brown
Thrashers.  The only Mockingbird was singing along Taggart Rd.

Warblers - Traphagen was the star spot, with 14 species, while Liberty
Woods had 8 and Smith Preserve had 6.  Species included Parula, Yellow,
Nashville, Tennessee (common), Chesnut-sided (common), Black-thr.Green,
Yellow-throated (only at Smith), Yellow-rumped (common), Palm,
Blackburnian, Redstarts, Hooded (Traphagen), Blue-winged (Traphagen),
Ovenbirds, Northern & Louisiana Waterthrushes, Common Yellowthroats.

Tanagers - the only one was a singing Scarlet at Liberty Woods

Grosbeaks,Buntings - Rose-breasted Grosbeaks & Indigo Buntings were at all
3 sites, while a gorgeous male Blue Grosbeak was along the roadside at
Smith Preserve

Orioles - Baltmores and Orchards were abundant in the riparian strip along
Taggart Rd; also had a few of each at Liberty Woods
