With afternoon obligations, I made a quick morning trip to sites along the
Scioto River in Dublin, starting at Kiwanis Park and working up to
O'Shaughnessy dam and reservoir, including Twin Lakes and the Home Rd
bridge. Quite a few expected residents were around, along with a few
surprises. Notables included:

Cormorants - a few at virtually every stop, plus many flyovers heading both
north and south
Great Egrets - several commuters, with birds at Kiwanis, the Dam, and Twin
Lakes, plus fly-overs
Herring Gulls - an adult pair was above the Dam, but no obvious sign of
nesting
Vultures - a few TVs were everywhere, but a single Black Vulture was at the
dam
Red-shouldered Hawks - adult & immature at Wellington Woods and Coventry
Woods
Cuckoos - calling Yellow-bills were at Coventry Woods, Donegal Cliffs, and
the Dam
Red-headed Woodpecker - one bird calling at Kiwanis was unusual for this
location
Cliff Swallows - strong colonies at several spots along the river course,
including Emerald Parkway bridge, the Dam, and Home Rd bridge.
Warblers - little other than Yellow-throated, which were singing at many
locations along the river
Orioles - a few Baltimores along the river, but nesting here seems largely
finished
