Hiked through this metropark southeast of Columbus in the afternoon. Good amount of activity all over. DIdn’t take a careful inventory, but noted these:

Pair of sandhill cranes (they nest there every year)
One osprey perched in a tree (nesting platform went up in 2002, but this is the first osprey I’ve ever seen there)
Brown thrashers
Eastern towhees
Northern flicker
Red-bellied woodpeckers
Downy woodpecker
Eastern bluebirds
Blue jays
Canada geese
Carolina chickadees
Tufted titmice
Northern cardinals
Golden-crowned kinglets
White-breasted nuthatches
Turkey vultures
Song sparrows
Miscellaneous ducks in the back pond, but didn’t have a scope to ID

Some fellow birders mentioned a common loon at Buzzard’s Roost Lake, so we stopped by and got a good look at it.

Jay
