Had plenty of time to watch birds at the stakeout. Nice variety: Red-breasted Nuthatch, White-crowned Sparrows (imms & ads), White-throated & Song Sparrows, White-breasted Nuthatch, Carolina Wren, juncos, chickadees (some debate whether they were Carolina or Black-capped here), cardinals, blue jays, Downy & Red-bellied WPs.
V large flocks of mostly grackles flew over, hundreds. Some Red-wingeds mixed in. At least one but prob 2 Coopers Hawks which we hoped wouldn’t have the Painted Bunting for lunch. TVs.
