I am thoroughly enjoying these waterfowl concentrations! I was searching
for the Eurasian this afternoon. No success, but it could very well still
be around. Viewing conditions were not ideal with the fog! heat haze,
and distances involved. My best scan of some of the waterfowl was from
a lake edge I reached walking down a short paved gated road. This wasn't
the fishing pier. I found another access point closer. I felt hopeful! I did
7 thorough scope scans there. And each scan was different. The birds
are moving around.
I love seeing all the Redheads! East Fork is still my high count!
I echo all the posts saying spring is coming! Killdeer everywhere. Grackles,
I just haven’t managed to be stopped somewhere to enter into ebird.
No Purple Finches though.....and of course the RB Nuthatch shows up
this morning again at my friends feeders.....
Nature notes - why is Lake Acton still mostly frozen?? After the rain, warm
weather and sun, I was shocked! Any weather people out there?
Good birding all. I am probably local next week. This chasing and missing
can get to a birder. Although I would like that Grosbeak.
