Starting about 5:30pm when I saw a Bay-breasted & TN Warbler in my yard, I spent the next hour trying to get on several warblers fly-catching & gleaning in my yard and my neighbor’s as the light went from decent to not so good. They would feed/flycatch from one tree, fly to a couple others, then circle back. V interesting.
In addition to those 2 species, also saw at least 4 Cape Mays incl one dull gray 1st year female, one or 2 Am Redstarts. Prob 3-4 Bay-breasted and a couple TNs. The most warblers I’ve ever seen at once in my backyard. Bay-breasted was a new yard bird.
A few chickadees & titmice were mixed in w/the warblers.
While it was difficult to make myself look around for other birds, I did see a large group of Chimney Swifts, at least 15, flying v high (barely identifiable w/binos) and at least one Black Vulture soaring w/some TVs.
Amazing late afternoon even if I kept wondering what I might be missing at Denison!
