Just because they don't know how to do it doesn't mean it cannot be done.
If the "computer people" could not help you, then it is their job to at
least be able to tell you who does know or where you can look it up.
 
Another already mentioned EXTRACT.  I just want to add that if you are in
the computer lab, you can then FTP it down to the lab PC's hard drive.  In
the LTC labs, there is an icon that says "FTP to MIAVX1" that can be
double-clicked on to bring up the File Transfer Protocol program.  You then
log onto your account as normal, then type:
 
GET filename.ext
 
This will start a text transfer down to C:\NETWORK\DOWNLOAD.  Afterwards,
you can copy or move the file onto a floppy, if you wish.  When you are done
GET'ing your file(s), then just issue the QUIT comand.
