Well, you may be right; but the social theory behind personal ads is sound
enough. You may have also noticed the sudden increase of female VAX users as
well.. it is inevitable that they'll find these newsgroups eventually (although
most of them are under age 20 *sigh*).
 
However, if anyone has success with this form of "branching out", then please
post a message here saying so. No names, please! It would just give some
justification to having a separate personals newsgroup.
