There is also a certain amount of subtle, perhaps non-paid,
advertising that should be kept in mind. The specific example I have
in mind is the late 19th century song "Under the Anheuser Bush". I
think this is the songs spelling but I am not completely sure. One
wonders if its composition might have been somewhat subsidized.

I have a copy of "Under the Anheuser-Busch" in my collection; it appears to
have been a novelty song written without direct involvement by the brewery
(i.e. the brewery was not the publisher), but easily could have been
subsidized or commissioned. If anyone is interested I'd be glad to dig it
out and post the words. The cover shows a couple with joined hands and an
A-B emblem above.
