As for length, I would imagine the T-120 would be appropriate.
 
As for brand/grade, I kinda like the Sony V. I even made a hi-fi recording
on one once, even though it's not (technically) hi-fi grade tape, and it
sounds very good. And it doesn't cost too much, particularly if you buy
a four-pack or something from a large electronics/appliance retailer like
Best Buy or Incredible Universe.
 
I've also used hi-fi grade tapes from the likes of TDK and Maxell, but they
tend to be pricey. And I don't imagine the Connells video copies will be
hi-fi -- at least, having two hi-fi machines was never specified as a
requirement for being a tree branch.
 
Anyway, there's my humble opinion.
