I've noticed alot of people have a distaste for George's songs,
especially Sal. I used to be somewhat of the same opinon, but
I think this is a little unfair. George's songs
certainly have a little different flavor to them, but I think they
are pretty strong in their own way. And give Sal another listen -
it's a cool little pop song when you give it a chance. Perhaps what
won me over to it, was when I heard another band, The Hollowbodies,
perform it acoustically a couple years ago. I really gained a new
appreciation for it then. I went back and listened to all of the
Connells albums again, and I was surprised how much George's songs
jumped out at me after a couple of years away from them. Any way,
that's my two cents worth.
