Following is a status report for the four PPP dial-in numbers:

Oxford on-campus dial-in, 1-7700
Status: 48 out of 48 lines are available. Average usage: 24 lines.
Peak usage: 48 lines.
Open Problem: The first terminal server router has periodically
crashed. (this would cause a hang-up and require you to redial to
connect.) The lastest crash occurred Tuesday morning, 9/17. Cisco
Design Engineering people are working on the problem; it is considered
high priority. It has been determined this is not a problem that can
be fixed by the Cisco field enginner through a configuration change.
There appears to be a bug in the software. This problem may exist on
the other terminal server routers, but may only be apparent here since
this is the only phone number that has been used to capacity.

Oxford off-campus dial-in, 523-0003
Status: 94 out of 96 lines are available. Average usage: 24 lines.
Peak usage: 40 lines.
Open problem: Two modems are disabled due to bad cables. New cables
have been ordered.

Hamilton dial-in, 737-2120
Status: 45 out of 48 modems are available. Average usage: 8 modems.
Peak usage: 15 modems
Open problem: three lines are disabled, waiting on new cables.
Additional testing is being done.

Middletown dial-in, 420-3821
Status: not yet operational. Ameritech has not fully configured the
T-1 line. They are having some problems with this. If you dial this
number, it rings without answering. The second T-1 requires
additional installation of facilities to the campus.
