The interactive component (Sea) of the Digital OpenVMS cluster in Oxford
(MiaVX1) was restarted on an emergency basis at approximately 2pm this
afternoon (Monday, 18 November 1996) after the system slowed to a halt for
as-yet-unknown reasons.

The system is up and running again now, and Digital Equipment Corporation
is being informed of the incident. MCIS Technical Support will continue
investigating possible causes of this incident.

Miami Computing & Information Services (MCIS) regrets any inconvenience this
unanticipated service interruption may have caused the user community.
