CALL FOR CHAPTER PROPOSALS
Handbook of Small Group Communication
Chapter proposals are invited for the Handbook of Small Group
Communication (Sage). The purposes of this handbook are to: (1)
demonstrate the breadth and depth of small group communication
theory, research, pedagogy, and application/practice; (2) review
and organize literature in particular areas of small group
communication in coherent, innovative, and pedagogically sound
ways (e.g., through typologies and models); and (3) set agendas
for future theory, research, and practice in the areas/topics
reviewed.
Proposals for chapters should articulate in 2-5 pages the
topic, purpose, methods, type of literature to be reviewed, and
possible conclusions and contributions of the chapter. Proposals
concerned with any aspect of small group communication--from
traditional concerns to innovative topics--are sought. The
organizational structure of the handbook will be developed based
on the proposals received and commissioned. An accompanying text
(a "mini-handbook") intended for use in upper-undergraduate and
graduate classes will also be developed from proposals.
Proposals must be received by FEBRUARY 1, 1997. A cover
letter should briefly describe the qualifications of the author
to write the chapter. Send five copies to Larry Frey,
Department of Communication, Loyola University Chicago, 6525
North Sheridan Road, Chicago, IL 60626. For more information,
email [log in to unmask] or call 773-508-3733.
