Okay, I've gotten enough messages -- both on the list and privately --
from people wanting copies of the tape who aren't on the tree that
I've finally decided to resort to this "call to disorder". :)

Those of you who are on the tree -- definitely continue with your
normal arrangements.

If you have or are about to obtain a copy of the tree tape, and you
can make copies and are willing to take on some of these 'orphans',
how about posting an open message to the list? Then those who have
nobody to make them copies now can respond to one or more of these
gallant souls (preferably offline/privately) and y'all can make your
own arrangments.

I'm not suggesting that anybody try to organize this or put together
another tree. Let's give Chaos a chance. :) Hopefully a decentralized
system like this will result in enough people getting the tapes. If
not, maybe somebody can organize another "mini-tree" after everybody on
the current one gets their tapes.

Here's hoping,

Steve
