Folks,
Ok, normally I wouldn't get involved, but when it comes to a nice person
getting flamed for doing nothing more than revving up discussion on a list
that's been pretty lax lately, I feel I have to step in. I mean, what' s the
problem with seeing translations of Nells lyrics from other languages? I'd
rather get something like that than some of the other crap spam mails I get.
And does it take up bandwith? Sure, it does. And if that's a problem for you,
then I'll clue you in...lists like these do take up bandwith. Springsteen
played a few nights back in NJ, and I've had an avg. of 25-30 posts on my
Springsteen list every day since then. Do I necessarily want to read about
every little nuance about his show? Do I have time? No to both, but I'm on
that list b/c I'm interested in that performer so I can either read them,
delete them, or sign off the list. But there's no way I'm going to email the
people posting and say ""do you think this is actually funny?" "When I see
that a post is from you, I know it's going to be a waste of time" ( just to
clarify to everyone, this is from the email someone on this list sent to the
person who translated "Stone Cold Yesterday." Their exact words) They have
just as much right to post whatever comments they like about Springsteen, or
in this instance, the Connells. That's the whole point of having this listserv
around. And, though I'm as anxious as the next person to hear the new album/
have the band tour, the "Stone Cold Yesterday" translation, and all the others
that have been submitted, are a welcome change.

If you didn't think so, fine, you have the right to dislike something, you
even have the right to state how much you didn't care for it. But to viciously
attack someone directly simply b/c they posted some inane thing you felt was a
waste of time is wrong.

Ok, I've said my peace. I apologize to all of you who had endure this, but it
was just not something I could let slide. We almost lost a valuable member b/c
of this.
