Yes, "universally reviled" is a loud overstatement.  I have seen a few people
post that it is not their favorite album, but most opinions I've seen
of it are positive.  I like it a lot, myself, though again, it's not
my favorite.  People who believe the band is "supposed" to sound like
Boylan Heights or Ring are not going to warm up to it, but I welcomed
the experimentation.  "Any" is a cranker-upper if ever I heard one,
as is "Maybe".
 
Now, if the American edition had just come in a jewel box like the Canadian
one, and not that damned Eco-Pak...
