      Guest host Tom Gjeltsen of NPR

      10-11 Journalistic Ethics: Earlier this month, "The New Republic"
fired a staff writer for having fabricated sources and events in many of
his articles. The panel discusses reporting, editing, and fact-checking
articles, and ethical considerations involved.

      Guests: Ellen Hume, PBS Democracy Project; Tom Rosenstiel, Project
for Excellence in Journalism; Charles Peters, Washington Monthly; Jane
Meyer, The New Yorker

      11-12: Rosalynn Carter, former First Lady and advocate for the
mentally ill. Her new book is "Helping Someone with Mental Illness" (Times
Books).


Fresh Air with Terry Gross, 12:06-1 p.m.

      Robert Redford discusses his new film "The Horse Whisperer", which he
directs and stars in. Also, a collection of pop music recordings from 1893
to 1946, "American Pop: from Minstrel to Mojo", as discussed by producer
and musician Allen Lowe.


Public Interest, 1-2 p.m.

      ESPN's SportsCenter is one of the most popular programs on cable. As
it celebrates its 20,000th episode, host Frank Stasio talks  with key
figures in its success, and that of ESPN. Guest: 1. Robin Roberts, Dan
Patrick, and Bob Eaton (editor) of SportsCenter


Talk of the Nation/Science Friday, 2-4 p.m.

      Join Ray Suarez for a look at the impact of divorce on children and
the best ways to help them cope...and a look at anti-trust laws,  browsers
and Microsoft's battle with the Justice Department
