Sorry for the delayed posting 'bout the Phoenix show, but I've been
moving and JUST got my modem working today.
Anyway, here's the details Scott wanted about the "before the show"
action--

The venue was The Cajun House, a club supposed to look like New Orleans.
Pretty groovy looking, but the acoustics needed a little help. The doors
opened at 5:00 PM, and being the die-hard fan that I am, my husband and I
arrived right at five. The place was deserted, just Peele and Steve in
view, getting the stage ready for soundcheck. We decided to take a seat
and watch a baseball game on TV and ran into Mike reading "The
Executioner" in the process. The game got boring, so my husband and I
went out to where Peele was making some noise. Steve came over to us,
introduced himself, and we chatted for about 10 while the rest of the
band got onstage and started tuning. Steve said he actually lived in Phx
about 10 years ago as an "educational book salesman, back before everyone
got comptuers." He ran back onstage, and the band soundchecked with a
song (sung by George) called "Angel/Send me an angel that I can hold
onto" (I got a setlist, and it's referred to as "Angel.") and "Burden."
George and Mike both sounded awesome. Mike's singing keeps getting
better and better! Doug was missing at the soundcheck, and it seemed
that no one could find him. Someone said he was on the phone...anyway,
about 15 mins into the soundcheck (when it's about done) he shows up,
tells everyone he thought it was a "line" check, and apologizes and makes
jokes.

After the soundcheck, we went back to where we first ran into Mike and
were watching the baseball game, and Dave meandered in, introduced
himself and chatted with us. George came in about 10 mins later, and
Dave excused himself. He seemed pretty low-key and tired of traveling.
(I don't blame him after being on the road so long!!!) George shot the
breeze with us for a good 20-25 minutes, and I asked him about the
children's album rumor. He smiled and said "so, I guess you have email!"
He seemed pretty aware of what goes on here (probably thanks to Wilson
;-) ), and thought that the rumor was pretty funny. He still seemed
keyed on doing a Christmas album, though.

After we got finished with George, Mike was wandering around and wandered
into us watching the game. He seemed pretty hyper--excited and ready for
the show--and was fidgity. We talked for awhile, and he seemed pretty
happy with the venues they'd been touring so far. He said that if the
album doesn't do so well they'll be back in the studio soon, so only time
will tell.

Scott did a great job talking about the crowd, etc. at the show, and
here's the setlist:

Fun & Games

Mary (crossed out)

Angel (crossed out)

Even though I've been a fan for a long time, this was my first show, and
I was psyched!! My back still hurts from dancing!! The guys were SO
nice--what gentlemen! Everything everyone has said about them being
down-to-earth and genuine was true. I just hope they come back to Phx
soon!

Thanks to Scott for meeting us and for the good post about the show!

Teri
