Of course, a good time was had by all, but I expect there was some letdown from the Raleigh show--I knew Kentucky couldn't begin to compare with that! [...]49_15Jul199810:17: [log in to unmask] |

This show was so rockin' that it has taken me this long to recover enough to
write an e-mail! Had a great time meeting people from the list...Cheryl, Beth,
Erica, Dede, Lisa, Kevin, and a couple new friends too....This was the best
Connells show I have seen in a long long time, and it was made all the better
by the opening set from Hobex!
The following was sent by Greg Humphreys (Hobex singer/guitarist) to the
members of the Hobex mail list:
"i had a great time at the nc museum of art show with six string drag
and the connells. wonderful venue for an outdoor show, great turnout,
and the bands rocked - kenny roby of six string drag has a great
voice, not to mention a bunch of great songs.
we had doc back on the skins, all warmed up from the previous night
at the blind tiger (his first show back w/ us.) connells keyboardist
steve potak (an ethnic potakian) joined us for a couple of numbers.
the connells looked more energized and together than i'd seen them in
a long time - maybe it was that big, dancing crowd. they played all
their hits and their new stuff, and included a rockin' cover of nick
lowe's "cruel to be kind." a very fun evening."
It was a blast and I can't wait until the next road trip :)
Philadelphia, anyone?
Scott
