Hi all!
I guess I'm the first to post about the shows over the weekend. It
was the latest in my series of crazy roadtrips (alright, so they were
airtrips!).
Nashville was great, though the crowd was smaller than normal and not
as enthusiastic as I've seen recently. One highlight was the guy who
kept bringing sixpacks up to the stage--like, 5 sixpacks in a row!
The guys were lovin' it--As if they weren't already fully stocked!
During setup for the next song (or should I say the decision-making
process :) Doug did a lovely rendition of "Up, Up and Away (in my
Beautiful Balloon".) (not the exact title probably, but y'know)
Tracey, you'll have to provide some more highlights of that evening.
Now Chattanooga--Oh BABY! What a show. Every song rocked. The guys
were applauding the crowd-that's how good it was. I managed to get
Mike and Doug to do "Uninspired", and oh, it had been way too long
hearing that one live. It was great. No "Cruel To Be Kind" this
weekend though, which was a shame. Maybe next time.
The guys were having SUCH a great time that night. At one point, Mike
actually "shimmied"! Mike could hardly play, for laughing at Doug.
At the end of Stone Cold Yesterday, Doug was unwinding the microphone
cord from around his body as he's prone to do--finally he just grabbed
it in his teeth, like it was a long-stemmed rose, and then went into
his "Karate Kid" pose--one leg in the air! What a nut!
I've gotta say Far Too Jones was GREAT too. They got us really
psyched.
I'll let Tracey and Dede finish where I left off. If anyone from the
list was in Mobile, let us all know how it went! :)
