This album is more an homage to Big Star than it is to "No Depression",
"Roots Rock", "Power Twang", "Alternative Country" "Americana Music".
Described as by one critic as a "young alternative country band's Pet
Sounds", it is very dark lyrically and Jeff Tweedy's attempt to stretch out
beyond what he has always considered a very confining genre. One of this
year's best. Please also check out Damien Jurado and Gus as well. Very
worthy folk rock albums that are worth your time.
John
