Hi, ya'll!

Just paid a visit to the Mayflies website, where they have a listing
for a show on Oct. 9 at the Cat's Cradle in Carrboro, NC, opening for
the Connells! Did I mention "WOOHOO!!!!"

Re: Friday's show in Charleston. A good time was had by all, with the
possible exception of the opening band, a local trio called Big Foam
Finger--I'm serious. They were pretty bad, but the crowd ignored them
to such an extent that I started feeling sorry for them and by the end
of their set was cheering and clapping vigorously. Call me a
sentimental fool.

The guys put on a rockin' set, despite a slight...er, mishap...I am not
at liberty to discuss. "Cruel to Be Kind" was a welcome addition to
the set, as well as....are you ready?...."Friendly Time"!!!!! I kid
you not, I would've bet every penny I have that you'd never hear this
one live. But Mike handled the vocals like a champ and the crowd did
well with the "la-la"s. Steve Ritter continues to do a helluva job on
the skins--he's not Peele, but then again, who is?

Hope to see a lot of ya'll at Ziggy's on Friday! You *must* go eat at
the barbeque restaurant across Baity Street from the club.
