Today at Mosquito Lake in Trumbull County we found the following birds of interest: (estimated numbers) Boneparte's Gull - many Ring-billed Gull - many Great Blue Heron - 4 Belted Kingfisher - 1 Pied billed grebe - 1 American Coot - 100+ Ruddy Duck - 20 Ring-necked Duck - 12 American Black Duck - 2 Gadwall - 15 American Widgeon - 20 Hooded Merganser- 35 Double-crested Cormorant - 6 Mallard - 25 Canada Goose - many Golden-crowned Kinglet - 12 Ruby-crowned Kinglet - 6 Yellow-rumped Warbler - 10 Eastern Bluebird - 7 Cedar Waxwing - 12 White-throated Sparrow - 3 VESPER SPARROW - 1 Dark-eyed Junco - 10 Song Sparrow - 1 Brown Creeper - 1 Red-bellied Woodpecker - 1 Downy Woodpecker - 1 RUSTY BLACKBIRD - 2 Bald Eagle - 9 Red-tailed Hawk - 7 Sharp-shinned Hawk - 1 Northern Harrier - 5 American Kestral - 2 Also, I had a nice pair of Hairy woodpeckers in my backyard here in Boardman.
