I was at Wildwood Park on the east side of Cleveland on Lake Erie the last few days and Sims Park in Euclid Wed & Thurs only. Wildwood was so incredibly birdy this afternoon I never made it to Sims Park. White-throated Sparrows & Kinglets were everywhere. Most of the "good" birds today were away from the lake but some were along the west side of the creek north of the bridge. The field north of the library was good, also east of the road but west of the creek & asphalt path running south of the woods following the north-south plantings. Here are some of my highlights: Wildwood Park 10/20/06 3:15 to 6pm 48 degrees, 15mph WNW,WSW,W rain stopped, cloudy Downy 2, Hairy Woodpecker 1, No. Flickers 3 Eastern Phoebe 1 Brown Creeper 1, Winter Wren 4 Golden & Ruby-crowned Kinglets -many many of both Hermit Thrush 4, Gray Catbird 1 Orange-crowned Warbler 2 Nashville Warbler 2 Yellow-rumped 7 (mostly near the lake where I wasn't) Common Yellowthroat 1 (bright mustardy breast & rear) Eastern Towhee 1 (calling) - male seen on 10/18 **Sparrows** Chipping 2, Field 3, FOX 3, Song 10+, Lincoln's 1, Swamp 5, White-throated 50-60+, White-crowned 7, Dark-Eyed Junco 5 Rose-breasted Grosbeak 2 (1st winter male deep apricot upper breast-w/rosey color streak coming down breast) Wildwood 10/19/06 2:30 to 3:55pm Rainy SW winds only thing different- Nashville Warbler 1 Magnolia Warbler 1 (haven't seen one for a month) Swamp Sparrow 1 Sims Park 10/19/06 4:10 to 4:40pm cloudy, raindrops Common Loons 2 (one in winter plumage) Red-breasted Mergansers 9-10 Sims Park 10/18/06 Common Loon 1 Horned Grebes 3 Nancy Anderson Richmond Hts, OH __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
