At North Chagrin Reservation of Cleveland Metroparks, Cuyahoga Co., there was seemingly a turnover of birds last night. Over the past few days there have been many White-crowned, White-throated, Song and Swamp Sparrows as well as a couple of Chipping Sparrows, Dark-eyed Juncos and Eastern Towhee. Today had my first American Tree Sparrow of the season and numbers of other species reduced. Belated reports: We had a Green Heron hanging out in the ponds near the nature center until at least Sunday, Oct. 22 - the latest date for this location in 20 years of record-keeping (although not a record for NE Ohio by far). Late at Headlands Beach State Nature Preserve on Saturday was a male Wilson's Warbler, found by Gary Meszaros and seen by Ray Hannikman, Jerry Talkington and myself. Late date for our region I believe is October 29 (by Hannikman). Also, I have not seen Chimney Swifts locally since Saturday. Kevin E.
