We feed unsalted, roasted, in-shell peanuts but I fear every Bluejay in the
county has discovered us. Between the Bluejays and Red-Bellied Woodpeckers
I am feeding over 3 lbs per day.

I have a lifelong friend in Virginia that grows peanuts and I can have all
the raw peanuts I want for go-and-get-them. I'm serious, I have a Dodge
Dismal pickup and my friend says I can fill the truck to overflowing if I
come get the peanuts. Are in-the-shell raw peanuts an acceptable food,
especially for our summer Red-Headed Woodpeckers + all the winter bums we
enjoy.

Cordially,
Tom Slater
