I finally saw the ROUGH-LEGGED HAWK I've been waiting for today at Mosquito. We found it hovering over a field on Mahan Denman Rd. We observed it for around 5 minutes until a juvenile eagle flew in and seemingly drove it off. Unfortunatley we were still unable to relocate the Northern shrike we saw on 11/30. Also, there were a couple large flocks of Horned larks yesterday afternoon eating in the fields on Calla Rd. in Beaver (Mahoning County). I would roughly estimate 200-250 individuals. 2 Ring-necked pheasant males, 35 Tree sparrows, and 1 Northern mockingbird were also present. _________________________________________________________________ Share your latest news with your friends with the Windows Live Spaces friends module. http://clk.atdmt.com/MSN/go/msnnkwsp0070000001msn/direct/01/?href=http://spaces.live.com/spacesapi.aspx?wx_action=create&wx_url=/friends.aspx&mk ______________________________________________________________________ Ohio-birds mailing list, a service of the Ohio Ornithological Society.
