Hello folks - Earlier today some of the Headlands crew observed a female KING EIDER at Mentor Lagoons (see previous post). This same bird (very likely) or possibly (?) even another individual (?) made it's way to Eastlake Power Plant, according to John Pogacnik, respectively. He states: "The KING EIDER ended up at Eastlake Power Plant at about 12:15. It landed and disappeared amongst the mergansers and waves." John also reports a fly-by PARASITIC JAEGER at Eastlake. For further information on Eastlake Power Plant environs please see: http://www.ohiobirds.org/birdingsites/showsite.php?Site_ID=52 Yet another way-cool detail John provides is a comment on LONG-TAILED DUCK numbers at Presque Isle (PA), a quick drive from Conneaut, OH. A well-seasoned birder there, Jerry McWilliams, respectively, " had long-tailed ducks outnumbering red-breasted mergansers, 3,795 to 3,295 near Presque Isle. THAT...folks......is just - plain - cool. Good birding. cheers Jen Jen Brumfield [log in to unmask] _________________________________________________________________ Get free, personalized commercial-free online radio with MSN Radio powered by Pandora http://radio.msn.com/?icid=T002MSN03A07001 ______________________________________________________________________ Ohio-birds mailing list, a service of the Ohio Ornithological Society.
