Well this bird must not like me or something. I guess Bill Whan and Brad Sparks had the WESTERN TANAGER at 2:30-ish. But it was long gone when I got there around 3:10. I was there with Jason Larson, Jim Fry, Levi Hoestedler, Craig, Jon Lennon, and some others and we all waited till dark (5:15ish) at the corner where it had been seen and nothing happened. Big bummer, this is the second time I just barely missed it. Oh well, I'm glad others got to see it. But I still think Bill scared it off.... Just kidding Bill. It was good to talk to some of the neighbors and they seemed enthusiastic about this rare bird being in their yards. The woman with the stone stacked hillside and evergreens in her yard said we were welcome to walk along the side of her house to peak at her feeders she put out some "cherry cobbler" birdseed for hopes. Still make sure you maintain as low a profile as possible and try to be courteous of the home owners etc. Just know that the bird isn't guaranteed there, thats for sure. Good luck. - Ben Warner ________________________________________________________________________ Check out the new AOL.
