Hello all, I wanted to let everyone know that we've added a new feature to our web page which will allow us to keep track of all of the species that birders report in Glen Helen over 2007. It can be found online at (www.glenhelen.org/science/2007birds.html). Birders will be able to report sightings via [log in to unmask] There are 145 species of birds on the Glen Helen list. However, that list hasn't been updated in many years, and during that time, former farms have become thickets, and former thickets have become mature woodlands. I imagine that skilled observers would be able to add a number of species to our list, and I'm intensely curious to see how many species we'll find over the course of next year. To get our 2007 bird list off to a strong start, we've scheduled a bird walk for January 1st. Hope to see you there if you plan to be awake before noon. Here are the details: 10 am to 12 pm. Monday, January 1, 2007 Walk starts and finishes at Trailside Museum 505 Corry St. Yellow Springs, OH 45387 Happy holidays! ------------------------------------ Nick Boutis, Executive Director Glen Helen Ecology Institute 405 Corry St. Yellow Springs, OH 45387 [log in to unmask] 937-769-1908 Support the Glen!
