Today, 22 Jan, local lakes are beginning to ice over in earnest; here are some
highlights from the southward push.  Did some atlassing Sunday on page 63 areas
during the wintry weather.  Had a nice look at an adult sharp-shinned hawk
which was cool for me.

mallard (~150), pied-billed grebe (6), American coot (~50)

20 JAN
Lake Milton, 42C&D4, Mahoning Co:  Am black duck (9), canvasback, redhead (2),
ring-necked duck, common goldeneye (~70), Bonaparte's gull (8), herring gull
(20+)

Mogadore Reservoir, 41D7/42D1, Portage Co:  gadwall (11), hooded merganser (7),
pied-billed grebe (2), herring gull (11)

Pymatuning Reservoir, 33C&D7, Ashtabula Co:  Am black duck (20+), bufflehead
(2), common goldeneye (~40), hooded merganser (20+), common merganser (10+)

Springfield Lake, 41D7, Summit Co:  northern shoveler (13), canvasback, lesser
scaup (2), common goldeneye (3), hooded merganser (5), pied-billed grebe (9),
Am coot (13)

21 JAN
Jefferson Lake SP, 63A5(?), Jefferson Co:  turkey vulture (2), belted
kingfisher, pileated woodpecker, swamp sparrow (2)

22 JAN
Long Lake, 41D6, Summit Co:  ring-necked duck (27), hooded merganser (20+)

Summit Lake, 41D6, Akron:  northern shoveler (30+), canvasback, bufflehead (3),
hooded merganser (20+), ruddy duck (20+)
