Sataurday, February 17, 2007, 3:30 p.m. Cuyahoga River from Collision Bend to the Columbus Road Bridge Observers: Paula Lozano & Bob Finkelstein There was no open water (or Black-crowned Night-Herons) at Merwin Street in the Flats. However, upstream there were open spots and hundreds of gulls (Ring-billed, Herring and Great Black-backed) in the water and on the ice, as well as a few goldeneye and scaup. Vantage points were by the firestation at the intersection of Scranton and Carter Roads and at the Bicycle Coop on Columbus Road. Between the two spots we found a Northern Mockingbird feeding in a crabapple tree along Carter Road.
