I realize that birders flock to the bridge at E. 72nd St. (Cleveland) to see
the special gulls which have been appearing there lately (Iceland, Glaucous,
Thayer's). However, just thought I'd mention to those who may visit and are
not familiar with the site that there are tons of beautiful ducks in the
easternmost portion of the open water, and it's well worth walking down there to
have a look. You'll be very close to bunches of Greater and Lesser Scaup,
Canvasbacks, Redheads, Buffleheads, Goldeneyes, and Red-breasted Mergansers.
It's looking like a cloudy weekend, but if the sun peeks through, these ducks
just glow with beautiful colors. They surely did make me smile today!
