Hi all!! Hope everyone is staying safe and warm these past several days. A very unusual guest showed up in the backyard late this afternoon. I was watching a small opening in the Muskingum River for Waterfowl when an Eastern Phoebe flew into the backyard only to land on one of my trellis. It really broke my heart to watch it wait patiently for some sort of meal when all that could be found flying were snowflakes.. I was able to get a poor photo of it with a blurred background of river ice caps, if you care to see the photo, the address is http://www.pbase.com/warbler/image/74103926 I am curious if this is just an early arrival or possibly one that attempted to overwinter, any thoughts would be appreciated..
