Tonight at 8 PM local PBS stations will offer a special program on Raptors. It looks like it will be well worth the hour.

Several times recently we have observed hawks killing some of our yard birds. Once it was a Cooper's and twice a Sharp-shinned There are two reasons why this is an especially good time for such observations. First a cluster of birds tend to feed in a relatively small area and second when birds hop around snow they are much more visible to raptors than then wood be on grass or bare ground.
