The lake opened a bit this week and as a result there was some duck and gull movement today. The ice was out about 1/4 mile and the birds moved either over the ice or over the southern end of the water. Birds of note were an adult bald eagle that ended up sitting on the ice and a 1st winter Iceland gull. There were a only a couple medium sized mixed flocks of blackbirds in the morning and decent numbers (100+)of crows migrating in the morning. Later in the day a turkey vulture flew over.
