Hello Everyone, My father in law and I spent the morning birding the Ohio River bottoms around Portsmouth. The flood waters are receding, concentrating the impressive number of ducks in the area. Diversity and numbers were very good. All of the expected species were present with the highlights being an early Blue-winged Teal. Also in the area were a Greater Yellowlegs and 3 Tree Swallows. We also visited Shawnee Forest where the Eastern Phoebes are once again plentiful. Flushing two Ruffed Grouse was our highlight in the forest. No Louisiana Waterthrush yet, but I can feel them coming! Brad Sparks Reynoldsburg, OH ____________________________________________________________________________________ Bored stiff? Loosen up...
