I visited Mosquito(Del pg 43 A-5) to photo raptors today, after having great numbers, like 26 Eagles & 10 Harriers, on Sunday. The numbers were not as good today, but it is apparent that the migration has begun. What an exciting time of year!
On the way home I found Horned Lark on Old Plank Rd. in North Bloomfield (Del pg 43 A-4) and again on Nauvoo Rd. in Middlefield (Del pg. 42 A-3)
Just north of Middlefield there was a single Sandhill Crane soaring from the east side of Rt 608 to the west side. There is a huge marsh here approximately 2 miles north of Middlefield. (Del pg A-2.75) I could not find a good vantage safe from traffic to investigate further. Looks like a good area to keep an eye on, though ;)
