5 members of the Darke County Birders roamed the western part of the county in search of Blue heron rookeris, redtail hawk nests and ducks Most interesting was a flying, feeding flock of approx. 40 Am. pipits, a lone slowly feeding Lapland longspur,and the singing chorus frogs. Bird list includes Canada geese mute swans a pair mallards ringneck ducks 18 in two different places hooded mergansers 5 pied billed grebe 1 checked out 2 great blue heron rookeries, but saw no herons(they have been seen in the last week, but not today) turkey vultures red tail hawks found 2 nests with hawks in close proximity kestrels 3 coots 3 killdeer morning dove red belly woodpecker downy EASTERN PHOEBE crows horned lark C. chickadee t. titmouse wh. br. nuthatch bluebirds Robin starlings Am. pipits 40 song sparrow juncos N.
