While visiting Sandy Ridge Reservation (DeLorme p.40 A/B-2) today at about
2pm, I encountered a Northern Shrike. It was in a tree adjacent to the
observation mound on the north side, giving me very good looks with my
binocs, and a few vocalizations.
After checking guidebooks, I'm guessing it was an immature.

The pair of sandhill cranes were walking the path on the south end, and
waterfowl observed included Canada goose, Mallard, Coot, Ring-neck, Gadwall,
Amer. wigeon, Hooded merganser, and Bufflehead.
