Great start to the day on Gore Orphanage Road in Wakeman in our back yard. A flock of ruby crowned kinglets were off the back deck in the pines and wild rose bushes.. The hillside under the feeders were alive with white throats (counted 10) kicking up leaves. The pond at the base of the hillside had a green heron and a wood duck. While watching goldfinches, downy woodpeckers, nuthatches and red bellied woodpecker at the feeder a rose breasted grosbeak flew back and forth several times. All this activity was viewed over a period of an hour from the back deck. . Warblers could be heard in the upper treetops but we were unable to identify any other than the yellow rump. Most of the birds continued to stay in the yard until the temperature began to rise and the sun came out. ______________________________________________________________________ Ohio-birds mailing list, a service of the Ohio Ornithological Society.
