There is still some activity on the lake but variety is down considerable. The northwest winds slowed down the songbird migration. Songbirds of note were WHIP-POOR-WILL (this evening), wood thrush, YELLOW PALM WARBLER and Nashville warbler. I did some survey work today north of Geneva and had a WORM-EATING WARBLER. Also seen were yellow warbler, ovenbird, and rose-breasted grosbeak. Yesterday there was a RED-NECKED GREBE on the lake just north of my house. the bird was in breeding plumage. It hung around for about 10 minutes before drifting to the east.
