According to The Shorebird Guide the number of Golden Plovers is approximately 1% of the entire world population of this species. It scares you to think that this large of the percentage is in one area at one time. It also shows the importance of additional shorebird habitat in northwest Ohio. Checking my records this seems to be the earliest record that I have recorded them. The numbers of Golden Plover off of Upper-Sandusky -Prospect Rd. and the Herr road wetlands are unbelievable.
