Birded Aullwood Audubon Center and Aullwood Garden Metro Park this morning from 10:15am - 12:30pm -ish. Birds were very active, even with the light drizzle that was coming down. I Love mornings like this! Location: Aullwood Audubon Center Observation date: 4/25/07 Notes: took the wright trail into Aullwood Gardens, down to river and back to aullwood, up around Bluegill Pond, thru wet woods/pine woods, thru the prairie and across the creek to center. Number of species: 38 Canada Goose Mallard Great Blue Heron Turkey Vulture Red-tailed Hawk Solitary Sandpiper Mourning Dove Barred Owl - being mobbed by some crows and jays Red-bellied Woodpecker Downy Woodpecker Eastern Phoebe Yellow-throated Vireo Blue Jay American Crow Tree Swallow Northern Rough-winged Swallow Barn Swallow Carolina Chickadee Tufted Titmouse White-breasted Nuthatch Carolina Wren Blue-gray Gnatcatcher - Lots Hermit Thrush American Robin Gray Catbird European Starling Northern Parula Yellow-rumped Warbler - Lots Yellow-throated Warbler Eastern Towhee Chipping Sparrow Field Sparrow Song Sparrow White-throated Sparrow Northern Cardinal Common Grackle Brown-headed Cowbird American Goldfinch Happy Birding to All !
