Greetings---I roamed through several townships in eastern Mahoning Co. today 4/20. A good number of migrant species were found. Nothing mind-blowing, and no big numbers of any one species. But still better than watching it snow. Highlights: 11 duck species, c. loons, pied-billed and horned grebes, d-c cormorants, great egrets, ospreys, sharp-shinned hawk, coots, greater yellowlegs, Bonaparte's gulls, swallows, Am. pipit, cedar waxwings, vesper & white-crowned sparrows, e. towhees, purple finch. Nothing new in the way of flycatchers, vireos, warblers, or other Neotrops. That may change this weekend, though. I suppose a large movement of broad-winged hawks is headed our way, too.
