Birded noon to 2pm and had many birds despite the time of day. New spring arrivals at Greenlawn (at least to me) are in caps: Canada Goose - One pair with 6 downy goslings Mallard - 1M,1F GREEN HERON - 1, at pit Turkey Vulture - 2 flyovers Mourning Dove Red-bellied Woodpecker - 6 Downy Woodpecker - 5 Northern Flicker - 2 Eastern Wood-Pewee - 1, at bridge Eastern Phoebe - 2 Blue Jay - 2 Carolina Chickadee - 1 White-breasted Nuthatch - 2 Winter Wren - 3, all at pit (singing) Golden-crowned Kinglet - 3 Ruby-crowned Kinglet - 1 SWAINSON'S THRUSH - 1 Hermit Thrush - 20+ (8 under one tree) WOOD THRUSH - 4 American Robin Northern Mockingbird - 3 (singing) Brown Thrasher - 2 European Starling Yellow-rumped Warbler - 1 HOODED WARBLER - 1 (putting on fine show around pit) Eastern Towhee - 2M,2F Chipping Sparrow White-throated Sparrow (lots of singing) Dark-eyed Junco - only 1 Northern Cardinal Red-winged Blackbird - 1 Brown-headed Cowbird - 3M,2F House Finch - 2M,1F American Goldfinch Suddenly absent today were Yellow-bellied Sapsuckers and Brown Creepers __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
